Request for

This is her character Sloane from her book 'Kingdom of Malinas'. I chose to do him because he seemed to be the most interesting and challenging to do... and the Celtic tattoos that covered half his face intrigued me I'm considering doing a second pic of him..a shot of his face with the tattoos in full, but I'll see.

The sketch took me forever to do >.< During the time it took me to find the right stock model and do the base sketch alone... I completed a handful of other requests and trades plus a couple of my own works >.< HOWEVER .. once I got the sketch done and scanned, the rest flew by easily. Had some trouble with his one eye and I'm still not loving it, but it's miles better than it was.

I tried to make his clothes look worn and slightly dirty.. and his jacket has a few tears in it... hope they look alright. Brown is not an easy color to 'dirty' *L*

Once again, I tried something new... this is my first attempt at using an actual background image rather just a wallpaper backing... I really kinda like it

.. I got the idea for the tattoo from this photo taken of a homeless man. Sloane's tattoo isn't the same, of course... I just used this as a basic idea of how to lay it out on his face. [link]
